Posting about our family trip to the Branson Landing has been on my to-do list for a while now. If you’ve never been to the Branson Landing, you should really consider exploring the area.

When I was a kid, my parents and I visited Branson several times. It was always a bustling place, but the vibe did seem to be geared more for the mature crowd.

In the last years that I have been to Branson, the subpopulations have merged, making Branson a relaxing vacation spot for anyone.

If you ever go to Branson, the Branson Landing is a must. It is more than just a fun shopping strip. There are great restaurants and an incredible family atmosphere in the amphitheater and on the boardwalk in front of Lake Taneycomo. There is a fabulous water and fire display right off the lake, and on certain days there are live concerts and the Branson Farmers’ Market.

We enjoy staying in the Branson Landing because of the mecca of shops, restaurants, nighttime entertainment, and people watching just footsteps away from our hotel. There are two Hiltons that anchor Branson Landing, and we have stayed at both. This trip marked the second time to stay at Hilton Promenade.

There are things to appeal to the youngest of visitors, such as a train ride down the main strip and even a Build-a-Bear store. On this trip, we took a train ride, and Scooter Britches was so excited to sit with the train conductor.

In the evenings, there is music and a fire and water show right on the Lake Taneycomo which runs behind the Branson Landing. I love sitting out after dinner and watching the water show while listening to synchronized music. The fountains are amazing, and the synchronized music changes at different times of the year. One of these years, my family will visit at Christmas time. I just know the fountains are amazing with the Christmas music! We visited one year at Christmas when I was a child, but that was before the Branson Landing even existed.

It’s nice to just stroll along the river and watch people ziplining across the lake, gliding into a landing area near the walkway.

My mom really wanted to try the duck boats. The Ride the Ducks Company has two locations in Branson. There is a Branson Landing location for those wishing to cruise Lake Taneycomo. We chose to drive down the Branson Strip to the second location so we could cruise Table Rock Lake. But there is also a duck boat right at Branson Landing for Lake Taneycomo.

The duck boat tour was an enjoyable way to learn about Branson and Table Rock Lake. The “Captain” was highly entertaining, and reminded me of my uncle with his candid, direct nature. The ride is over an hour long – around 70 minutes. Scooter Britches and Little One, at three years and one year, grew restless of sitting still after twenty minutes or so as we drove through the mountains. They did become mesmerized once the boat entered the water, but that was not until later in the trip as the majority of the trip was land-based. In hindsight, I think they may have been a bit young for such a lengthy ride.

As for the individual restaurants, our favorites are White Water Fish House, Black Oak Grill, and Texas Land and Cattle. Check out my next post for more details on these favorites!

Branson Landing is a must if you are into a really laid-back atmosphere for your family vacation.
